“The Role of Forests in Decarbonization: Land-Use Tradeoffs for Net Zero”
Thursday, May 21, 2026, 7:00-8:30pm

How have the forests of New England evolved since the post-colonial period and how might they save us in the future? These are complex questions involving the ways biological, physical, and human systems interact to shape the region, including all the ways the landscape is changing due to both global forces such as climate change and local forces like land use. Central to our future is the role that forests play in decarbonization and the land use tradeoffs that may lead to net zero.
